Questions, answered straight.

What is EDSI VMS?+

EDSI VMS is cloud-based equine veterinary practice management software focused on the billing office: penny-exact split-ownership billing, concierge statement delivery, card payments, medical records, and DEA controlled-substance logging. It was built inside a working equine practice.

Can it split one horse’s bill across multiple owners?+

Yes — that’s the core. EDSI splits each charge across a horse’s owners by percentage in whole cents (largest-remainder allocation), produces one invoice per owner, and blocks any run where a horse’s ownership doesn’t total 100%.

How do owners receive statements?+

By whichever method each owner prefers — email, mailed paper, or both — auto-routed from a single batch run, with a preview-and-approve step before anything sends and SMS reminders available. You can also bill a third party (trainer, agent, or bookkeeper).

Can EDSI charge cards on file?+

Yes. Cards are securely tokenized by Stripe, Authorize.Net, or PayJunction (the raw number is never stored). Staff preview and approve an auto-charge run; successful charges email a receipt and apply oldest-invoice-first.

Is card handling secure and PCI-compliant?+

Cards are tokenized client-side by your payment processor, so EDSI stores a token rather than a card number. Your practice collects card details on its own intake form; owners don’t need a login.

Does EDSI handle controlled substances / DEA logging?+

Yes. EDSI keeps an inventory DEA report plus a separate controlled-substance register with opening/closing balances, per-dose dispensing, waste-with-witness, and a date-range per-drug audit report.

What devices does it run on?+

Any modern web browser — desktop, laptop, phone, or iPad — and it installs as an app (PWA). There’s no hardware to buy and no on-premise install. In the field, offline capture keeps working with no signal: charges, vaccinations, and exam notes queue on the device and sync automatically when you reconnect.

How much does it cost?+

From $149/month, flat — no setup fee and no per-vet surcharge. Email, SMS, and mailed statements are all included in the monthly subscription. Book a demo for a tailored quote.

Does it integrate with QuickBooks or labs?+

EDSI keeps statements, AR, and payments in-app, so you don’t need QuickBooks for billing; CSV export is available if your bookkeeper wants it. Direct lab integrations aren’t offered today.
