EDSI VMS didn’t start in a boardroom. It grew out of 20+ years running the day-to-day of a real equine practice — where a single horse has four owners, the vet is standing in a barn aisle, and the statements still have to go out on the first.
Most veterinary software is built for a small-animal clinic and then stretched to fit horses. It shows — the moment you try to split one patient’s bill across its owners, the seams tear.
Equine Data Systems took the opposite path. EDSI VMS was designed from the inside of an ambulatory equine practice — East Coast Equine Performance — around the problems that actually eat a horse vet’s week: fractional ownership, farm-call billing, controlled-substance logging in the truck, and getting statements in front of the right payer so the practice gets paid.
That’s why the hard things work here. Split-ownership billing is penny-exact with a guard that won’t let a bad split through. Statements go out by email or mail the way each owner wants, with text reminders. Cards on file get charged with staff approval and a receipt. It’s software that already runs a practice’s billing office every day.
